Welcome Symposium Participants !

As the name of the event implies, “The Intersection of Risk,” is meant to provide for an audience that is truly an intersection of cross sector (public government and private firms) and blended industry representation spanning the spectrum including:  Information and Physical Security, Disaster Recovery, Financial and Operational Risk, Risk Management, Procurement, Emergency Management, etc.—all the often silos of risk.  The full day of the event allows for 8 continuing educational credits or 8 PDUs from PMI.
 
The goals of the event are several:

 • Provide a low-cost yet top rate forum for continuing education credits intersecting the various threads of risk for both the public and private sectors to foster greater understanding and networking of the various pieces and parts necessary for preparedness (such as:  emergency management, financial and operational risk, risk management strategies including enterprise risk management trends, disaster recovery, coordination of emergency management of the public and private sectors, crises management, information security, physical security, etc., and;

 • Provide a forum which to allow a greater understanding of the many pieces and parts of the ERM, Security (physical AND Information Technology), COOP / Business Continuity Management, etc. process for our next group entering the workforce (by promoting the intersections of the various fields and fostering an environment in which our local university students can learn from seasoned professionals).
